Downtown is the heart of the city. Pulsing with life and energy, it’s impossible not to find something interesting to see, eat, or someone interesting to talk to. We started our trek by the First Christian Church, a gorgeous architectural misfit, and patrolled the edge of the downtown neighborhood after a brief pass by the always active bus station. Along the way we spotted Washington Jefferson Park, the site of the Occupy Eugene camp last year, now populated by pedestrians and dog-walkers. After that, we passed by the Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House and Ya Po Ah terrace, landmarks if Eugene has any.
