Downtown Neighborhood (Neighborhood Assignment #1)

The group I was with had decided to head out to the edges of our designated news zone. We started at the local dutch brothers. It stood like a tiny island away from all the other nearly identical coffee shops only a few blocks away towards campus.

Afterwords we went towards the library and bus station. It was Friday, so things were pretty busy. The rain was a constant light shower, the patter of which filled the air and mixed with the sound of traffic. The colorful inhabitants of Eugene making their way around town or stopping along the sidewalk for light conversation with neighbors.

Finally we ended up near the Willamette River and stopped by a small park. Run down, possibly abandoned vehicles stuck out in the empty parking lot and contrasted starkly next to the vegetation.

We got around via car, which was convenient given the weather that day.
